Even the best fall down sometimes

This is a sad day. Not just for me but for all the Filipinos. Manny Pacquioa lost to Juan Manuel Marquez on their epic battle. If it was a based on decision and he lost, it would be easy, but it was a very hard knock out that lead him down to his face. We all thought he was winning the rounds until the last seconds of Round 6, Manny became too aggressive, over confident and sloppy. Our hero was down. My heart was crushed. I can't watch. Seeing his wife, Jinky wanting to rush to the ring to help her husband was the first time I saw it on a boxing match. If we are all hurting, how much more for his family. We love Manny, win or lose, we will always be greatful how he made the Filipinos proud.

Converse Overload

Yesterday, December 9, I woke up earlier than the usual so that we can go early to the Converse Sale at Marikina. It was way back December 2010 when we went to the Converse Sale at SM Megamall. It was a great shopping experience so we decided to go back but now we headed to the Warehouse sale.

The warehouse is located at #65 General Molina St. Parang, Marikina. We ride a van from Cubao going to Parang,Marikina and told the driver to drop us there. When we reached the gate, we thought it was still closed but to our surprise the other gate was already flooded by shoppers. And it was the beginning of our shoe hunting saga! Boyfriend and I decided to split so we can look around. I was not able to take photos of the long lines at the cashier and very crowded area. Some were like hoarding all the shoes that they can grab and putting them all in a clear plastic bag. It was really an old warehouse with only ceiling fans so expect a lot of sweating. It was a little chaotic but its normal since its the first day of sale. After an hour, its like the storm has passed. Everything calmed down and yey! we were able to sit to fit some of the shoes.

Sorry for the haggard look. I forgot to bring a hair tie and a towel.
I'm not well prepared. ^^

Boyfriend looking for shoes for our future kids. Hehehe.

Racks and Racks of Shooooessss!

This is what the boyfriend found for me. They were all amazing but the price range were out of my budget. I'm looking for lesser than 1000 since last year a got the red one below for 500 only.

My retiring converse which I bought last December 2010 and now trying the yellow one.

My selection: dr.zeus design (from kids section), yellow, olive green and white basic.

Look who I found! I found NEMO!
Some of the shoes for kids costs only 250 - 300 pesos. I was looking on some of the kids shoes because my feet are small, sometimes I can fit on their biggest size.

Boyfriend found this and he's persuading me to buy it.
It was sad for me but I said no to this baby.

Say hello to my new, kikay na kikay na pink shoes!!!
Weeee... For 950 pesos I got my new converse shoes!
The story behind, I just took this from the other girl beside me who was hoarding a lot of pairs and she didn't notice that I took it. It's size 5 so its meant to be mine!

Pink with sunglasses design, so fasyon! I'll surely wear this out just like my red one.

This is what the boyfriend bought for 2350.
Black leatherette with stars and stripes of embossed flowery design.
Not bad, since it looks good on him and its a rare design.
He was also hesitating to buy it because of the price but when he found the exact size for him, he said it was meant to be. =)

Just a friendly reminder, the line at the cashier can be very long and slow moving. A tip: be friendly! I met a girl who was eyeing on the yellow shoes that I was trying on and I let her try it. When I saw her near the cashier I asked her if she can include our payment and she willingly said yes. Also bring your eco bag, this was a reminder on the tarpaulin at the gate. They won't provide plastic or paper bags, they will just tie the boxes together. The boyfriend luckily brought his Nike ecobag.

I think the sale will last until December 23. So you can still go there and find your chucks!

My blog is ALIVE!

For the love of reading blogs, I have attempted too many times to have my own. And yes, I have failed. Unfortunately, the sofa and the TV got me all the time. And during my spare time, I just want to relax and sleep which leads to an outdated blog. But now, I'm inspired again.

A dear friend was recently featured in a blog and the wife of my officemate also has a blog. I'ts really a sign to go back! Also my boyfriend aka my fiance (still not used to calling him like that), have always convinced me to put up a travel blog but I always say that I'm really lazy to think of words for his amazing photos. And I realized that I've got a lot of things going on right now and blogging would be a great way to share them with my friends.

So I'm back! Yey! Lucky  that blogger.com made it easy for me to go back, it has been a very long time and I might have forgotten my it if not because of my google id. And now that I'm here again (and I'll try to stay) here are the things you can expect:

Wedding Talks

My boyfriend proposed last November 3 at Burot Beach, Calatagan, Batangas. Now I'm starting to rummage all websites, suppliers and sources for my wedding plan. So I would post here my wedding saga. =)

Fashion Finds

I have always been in love with ukay ukay! I have a lot of good finds and they've been filling up my closet. And they are really worth sharing here. Would you believe that the pretty dress up there came from my favorite thrift shop for only 160 php.

Food Trips

Who doesn't love eating? We all do and I've been trying a lot of different restaurants recently. I have gained weight isn't that enough to say how we love eating out.

Travel Post

My boyfriend introduced me to travelling. We declared our relationship while we are onboarding our first plane ride to Cebu. Since then we have traveled to different places here in the Philippines. And we're hoping to travel the world!

Crazy Antics

This blog wouldn't be me without my crazy pictures, funny stories and random thoughts. We all need a dose of happy capsule everyday. =)

So these are the things I would post most of the time but as the blog title goes "Random Things", so expect a lot from me! I would really try to post things every once in a while juggling my work, my wedding and my life. Hope you'll be a part of my adventure as well!

Aja!

WE'RE ON SHOPPING SPREEEEE!!!

OMG!... I'm officially back to my shopping frenzy which I thought I'm over with! It started from reading all those beautiful blogs and seeing their love for fashion! And I'm glad I'm not alone coz' my bff chelle is also doing her shopping spree there in the US. And we exchanged pix to show off our new purchases and what's amazing is its like we can read each other's mind since we bought almost the same stuffs during the weekend. Here are the purchases we've had, some are really expensive while some are bargains.

My new shoes which i really love from Zoo York

The "Close to the original chain bag that I've been drooling on, from ukay ukay for 280 pesos.

Ring I bought while we are walking on the sidewalks for 50.

Chelle's new shoes, pretty neat huh? We both loved it!

Chelle's new necklace. So nice.

The sunglasses she wore when she arrived and really looked like a balikbayan.

Its really funny how our minds connect and yet our fashion statements are kinda different. But we love each other and we love dressing up!

2010 Goals

Last Jan. 28 was our first "kamustahan" for 2010. "Kamustahan" is a session within our team where we get to talk about our personal and professional lives based on a given theme for the month. For January, it was about setting goals.

Ever since college, every start of the school year, I would write my goals which includes studying harder, studying harder and studying harder.

I remember when I was in 4th year college my goals was to finish on top and I was so happy to recall that I achieved it.

So this year, I will again set my goals and hopefully next year I would be happy to share that I achieved them.

Goal No.1 - Stand-out

My badong and I were talking about changing our wardrobes from being simple to being a standout. We are both working in a company where jeans and shirts are a staple. And this year, we plan to bring the change by being a standout from the crowd, may it be wearing colorful dresses, high heels or funky shoes. So simplicity is a No-No.

and to start with, here is my new pair of Zoo York shoes... i loveeeeeeeeee...

Goal No. 2 - Save!

This one I shared with my teammates. I am planning to save 100k this year. Im feeling kinda hesitant about this but one of the key elements in setting goals is it has to be measurable so I set a very high bar of 100,000. This one, wish me luck.

Goal No. 3 - Be more productive.

On our work, productivity is a big thing. Everyday we need to attend to issues and at the same time work in our projects. So my goal is to solve an issue a day. This way I will learn new things and somehow be able to take more responsibilities. I need this so bad...

Hmmm..maybe these are my goals for now. I hope I can make them happen or even exceed them. I'll have them reviewed next year and let's see if I sticked to them.

You, what are your 2010 goals?
Make sure they aren't vague and they are measurable! ^-^
